Just My Thoughts.

"No one has the right to sit down and feel hopeless. There's too much work to do." All the time you spend moping and feeling down or being sad you could be making something of yourself! Go out and be a prime example for little kids, or even teenagers. By making yourself look more responsible in front of them you’ll make them more responsible themselves.
Have you ever looked at someone and smiled? More than 9 times out of 10 they smile right back. It’s like an automatic reaction to mimic there facial reaction. So if you walk around smiling people will be overall happier, especially around you. Smiling releases endorphins that make you feel happier. So even if you’re pissed off or in a bad mood that day if you smile, you will feel happier than if you frown.
Don’t just feel hopeless, make something of yourself. Go out and get a job, get a car, buy a house, find that special someone. This will give you purpose in life and make you feel like your important. Doing these things will motivate you to be a better person and a better example for others. So motivating you, you are also going to motivate others in the long run.
Another part of the “work to be done” is always improving. Always work to make yourself better emotionally, physically, and even everything around you. So show your emotion don’t just hide it, maybe talk a counselor about controlling your emotion. Physically keep you body fit. You don’t need to be a model by any means, but live a healthy life style. Lift weights, run, jog, do push ups, sit ups, pull ups. Get moving to lose weight and you will feel better all over. As for improving your surroundings, my parents are always fixing up the house and remodeling different rooms. And looking at it before and after it blows it out of the water and makes they house so much nicer to be living in and gives you more confidence in every step living in a house that is always getting better and always improving.

  1. Jake as for the content it is very touching to hear your person thoughts. This story takes itself to different places and lets me the reader discover your life as a changing thing and you are not afraid to speak out about it. The work to be done do you actually follow these nuggets of wisdom or do they come out of an unmovable fountain inside you? These things that you say to be a prime example may have in itself a higher truer meaning which you may or may not have discovered yet. This is a well written story containing multiple examples of self-motivation and experiences that help to shape lives, thank you for your insight on this confounding topic.

  2. I had no idea that if you were to smile at someone they would automatically react and do the same. So if I were to make a weird face at someone would nine out of ten of the people do it back? I think that you bring a great point across. We do need to make a better example for the younger generation because they are going to be the ones running our government in the future.

  3. Jake,
Your second paragraph made me laugh. I didn't know that, that was true. :) I agree with your whole blog. I think everyone can go out and do something with themselves to make them not feel hopeless.

  4. Jake,

I feel like every time I read your blogs I learn a little bit more about you like I definitely would have never guessed you would want to drive a 4x4 but I also understand the logic behind it since the other cars you want are sporty and not great in the snow. Your ten year plan was also very clear and concise and I believe that because of your strong work ethic you will be successful in all aspects of life. You will also make a wonderful dad because even now at 18 you realize the importance of being around your kids while they grow up. This final blog was very well written as well, you touched on all facets of the quote. I think that you would be a great motivator and I hope you utilize that characteristic when you get into the work force, whichever route you go (computers/accountant). Also, your one word, I I know you have it on your license plate as well but I feel that the logic, sincerity, and clarity behind your posts leads me to believe that you care about many things, the difference is that you care about things that most kids your age are not even considering like: paying off your car, which jobs will be in high demand that you would enjoy, and being a father. You really have so many things going for you! I wish you the best of luck in life!
