Senior Final - May 7

I’m Jake Curtis and this is my final post for the class Creative Writing. If you’re considering taking the class I think you should. Don’t get me wrong just like any other class it’ll have its ups and downs, kind of like with anything. But at the end of it all you will find the class well worth taking. At first the class was easy the assignments were just simple short lists, but then it got harder as you start writing about yourself. Having to come up with hundreds and hundreds of words telling who you are and what you would do in certain situations, but then when you learn to express yourself the class becomes very easy again. Even though you’re writing 400+ words multiple times a week you can meet that goal with no problem because you understand yourself on a whole new level. That’s something you will actually use in the real world! You need to know how to express yourself in a positive healthy manner and that’s what this class does.

Through the class you will blogging. Posting lists and short essays over a topic given to you each day. The worst assignment I came across was a 500 word story that you come up with, with very little guidelines. I’m not really a creative person so I found this to be the hardest thing. It took me so long to do that assignment because, now I can right about myself all day, but when it comes to creating my own story with random events that’s pretty hard. On the other hand there will be many more assignments you actually enjoy doing that you will breeze through with no problem. Anything from a list of your favorite famous quotes, to your best and worst traits, to her starting a sentence and you finishing it with your answer. My favorite had to actually be the one about the famous quotes, not just because it was short and easy but because I actually found quotes that inspire me and that people can really live by. Here are a few examples:   “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” -  Mahatma Gandhi; “Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.” - Allen Saunders; “I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you.” - “I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you.” - Friedrich Nietzsche. Those are just a few of my favorite quotes from that post I did and actually found intriguing. You actually really get into some of these assignments, to where you can’t even walk away until there done. Just because you actually enjoy doing them; and you don’t want to lose your train of thought by walking away. That’s another thing once you get rolling on an assignment you gain momentum to keep going and keep talking about yourself. This really helps you get through assignments faster and easier. As for the number one thing you will learn in this class, I’ve already said, you learn how to express yourself in a healthy way and in a safe and secure environment of your peers.

Since we’re talking about the future I have a little more advice for you. The older you get the faster time goes. This senior year felt like it took less than 1/4th as long as Jr. year. It really just absolutely flew by. So as for a life lesson, live in the moment! Don’t just talk about doing things in the future; make those things happen right now! The longer you wait the more you’ll miss out on.

Epilogue - May 6

If someone were to read through my personal portfolio they would really get to know me better than a lot of my peers even do. Doing this blog I’ve even managed to learn a lot about myself. Through writing daily on my blog I’ve found my emotions run deeper than I ever actually show. I would like to learn to control my emotions better. My emotion is what drives me to do the things I do. From my diet and how often I exercise; to how dearly I hold my relationship. You would also learn a bunch of basic things about me like what kind of car I have, how I may act around my friends and family, and what I would do in random scenarios. Like now if my house were to catch on fire I know the first things I would grab before I ran out the door, or just how I would handle a lot of situations. I think now I could act on any situation faster than I ever could. So doing this blog has actually sharpened my mind and I think that is actually going to help me in the real world. 90% of the way through this blog I thought it was the most useless thing ever, but it’s actually made me a better person. By finding out so much more about myself I am actually able to express myself more easy and healthy way.

3 words that describe me-

Emotion – Yeah, whenever my license plate expires I won’t be keeping it, because it says the opposite of who I am. Even though it’s really hard to tell with me because I bury and bury my emotions on a daily basis, all that emotion has built up; and even though I still hide it I’m more emotional than I’ve ever been in my life.

Health – Right now at this time in my life I’m really into being healthier. Eating right and exercising daily are essential to me and I feel like if I eat right and work all day I still should exercise at night because I still need to get my heart rate up to work on cardio.

Ready – I’m so ready to graduate. This last year of high school as gone by so fast it’s hard to believe! And even though it’s coming to an end I’m not worried at all. I’m still going to hang out with my friends and be the same person I’ve always been.

Valuable lessons - May 2

1.       Never let go of the people you love – Even though times are going to get rough and you going to fight, remember that their always going to be there for you, as you should be for them.

2.       Don’t take your mess ups too personally – I’ve been in the situation at work on many occasions where I make a mistake, anything from making a pizza wrong, to spilling something, to making a recipe wrong and sometimes I take it really hard. Over my 11 months at Mazzio’s I’ve learned you can’t take those mistakes personally there going to happen more than you think and it’s not near as big of a deal as you think.

3.       Don’t top your car out on a back road – Although this maybe common sense to a lot of people it apparently wasn’t to me. On a back road after 120 it gets extremely easy to completely lose control of the car.

4.       Family is always there for you – No matter what you do to them family is still family and they will stay by your side, Even when you mess up multiple times in a row.

5.       Although money is important it is not everything – Although money should be in your priorities it should not be the main thing in your life.

6.       Video games are fun, but if you play to much they’ll stop being fun – You don’t even want to know how many hours I put into some of the games I played when I was younger, it was a lot more hours than a job and it was 7 days a week. When you play so much it’s like a job, you’re taking it too far. And if you keep pressing through it you will lose interest in video games completely.

7.       Work smarter not harder – Think each situation through, to be able to get through it the best and most efficient way possible to save time and effort.

8.       The way it should be is Bros before H*** - if you blow off your friends to hang out with your girlfriend all the time, and if you guys breakup then you lost your girl and all your friends. (this is what I’ve been told, but haven’t learned yet)

9.       Everyone deserves a 2nd chance – Everyone should get a chance to redeem themselves for their mistakes. But after you’ve had that chance you don’t deserve a 3rd.

10.   Relationships at the workplace are hard – This has got to be the hardest way to maintain a relationship, but if she’s the one, it’s worth the hassle.

Synetics - April 15

Which is wiser? a pen or pencil? – A pencil because you can go back and fix your mistakes while a pen if you go back you have to use Whiteout. That looks so much worse.

Which is easier to forgive? a street or a sidewalk? – Well that’s easy, the sidewalk. Because if you fall you won’t get ran over before you get up.

Which is smarter? A clock or a calendar? – A calendar has to be smarter. It keeps track of the day for 12+months at a time, while it also keeps track of leap years and holidays.

Which is like a contest? a cloud or a sunset?-- A cloud is more like a contest. Because clouds race each other across the sky.

Which is more fearful? new or old? – New is so much scarier.  With the old you know what to expect, with the new anything could happen.

Which is more difficult? a dream or a nightmare? – A dream seems more difficult. A Nightmare you just shake off but a dream you think of what life could be.

Which has more pride? an entrance or an exit? -- I would have to say the exit. You have to know when to walk away from a bad situation.

Which is easier to close? a road or a map? -- Well a map duh. You just fold it over.

Which has less charm? a signature or an autograph? – An autograph has less charm. It’s what everyone will see but a signature is unique to an individual.

Which is more useful? a friend or an enemy? – I almost want to say an enemy. Because you can use your enemies to get your friends closer.

Unfinished Sentences - April 12

1. I usually worry about my future.. it’s so uncertain and not knowing where I’m going to end up kind of scares me. I don’t know who I’ll be with, or where I’ll be in 5 years. But I do know my family will always be there for me and that’s what comforts me.

2. I feel angry when I mess up. Whenever I mess up on something like at work or on a project or whatever once, I’m ok. But messing up multiple times in a row really gets my goat. Like when I have to re-do my dough at Mazzio’s three times in a row because of stupid little mistakes, such as too much water, or not enough flower, or forgot to the oil in and these things happen back to back to back that’s what pisses me off.

3. I’m moody when stressed out. If I’ve pulled a 55 hour work week, you probably don’t want to talk to me. Because you’re only going to get smart-a answers. I see why my boss is like this now because he works 55 hours every week, but I had to cover those hours last week while he was on vacation.

4. I’m happiest when I’m at work and everything is going right. When were busy but everyone is still ahead. Nobody’s arguing but rather getting there work done with a smile on their faces. That is when everything just feels perfect.

5. I feel confident when I dress up. Whenever I wear a suit or something that looks really classy, that’s what really boosts my confidence. When you’re lookin’ pretty fly you just can’t help but to feel more confident.

6. I feel frustrated when mess up.

7. I feel depressed when…everything in life is going wrong, and it seems like nothing is ever going to go right again. That’s when I walked for hours late at night around town. Headphones on blaring music and just walk all night, seriously until the sun are up and it’s like 7a.m., I’ve done this at least 30+ times in the past year..

8. I am comfortable when I’m asleep. This may be hard to believe but my muscles are always kind of tensed up if I’m awake. Like my shoulders and my back, they just never seem to relax unless I’m passed out.

9. I feel nervous when I’m at work doing something new. And as I learn it I’m teaching a new person how to do it. That’s like such a bad feeling, because if you mess up your teaching the new person wrong and you have to start from scratch and go back and re-do it all the way through.

10. I feel sentimental when…pretty much never. I’m not a pack rat so I can throw almost anything away. Just last week I went through a box of trinkets and toys, and games I had growing up. I went through everything one by one, and I through it all away.

Extended Metaphors - April 9

If I were a day of the week, I would be Friday, because it’s always a good time. Friday is the most laid back day of the week. No work on Saturday, Normally, so I can stay out late and have and hit the club or go to the bar. Or like a lot of Friday nights after I get off work go home and go to sleep but sometimes I actually hit the town. Just 2-3 weeks ago Sura and I went to Springfield to go to the Hy-vee and drove around for 2 hours to find somewhere to eat.

If I were a food I would be an Apple, because that’s my favorite fruit. I eat at least 1 apple every day. It’s low in calories and rich in minerals so it’s really good for you. I would choose this fruit over any other. They have a lot of good carbs that can give you energy throughout the day.

If I were a car, I would be a Nissan 350z because that’s the coolest car ever. I’ve had a Nissan 350z for 3 months now. I’m finally getting good at driving a Stage 2 Clutch. It’s so much more sensitive than a normal clutch and you have to slip it a little more. It’s the best purchase I’ve ever made and I have no regret in buying it.

Symbolic Recipe - April 8

1⅔ lbs. honesty  4 oz. of bossy
 12 oz. common sense
1 lbs. intelligence
2 cups reliability
1 oz. creativity
“Quarter Cup” of love
2 lbs. emotion
⅝ Cup trust
9 oz. tolerance
1½ lbs. integrity

Ok start with the honesty as a base, then slowly pour in the bossiness. Next you want to add in all that common sense. And then the intelligence, can't forget that. Then put the reliability in. Next pour in that heaping oz. of creativity. Go ahead and toss in that "Quarter Cup" of love. And then the 2 lbs. emotion on top of that. Next mix in that little bit of trust. Almost done, add the tolerance and integrity at the same time and wa-la, you made Jake.

The Ultimate All-Purpose Excuse - April 4

I have thought of the perfect excuse for just about any situation you could come up with. “I ran out of gas,” could save you from getting into almost any kind of trouble. If you’re late for work and you boss flips a lid. “Sorry man I ran out of gas on the way here, and I had to wait for my Mom to come with the gas jug to get my car going.” It even works for situations that you wouldn’t think it would work in. Such as, “Why didn’t you do your homework?” “Well I was on my way home last night to finish up my homework and I ran out of gas in the middle of no where!” See no one to blame. So you get out of trouble as easy as that. Say Sura and I go out to find some “Bawls,” not what you’re thinking of just the energy drink, at 1 a.m. and we get back at like 6 a.m... Sura could just tell his parents that we went out for a short drive and ran out of gas out in the country, and no one would pick up there phone because it was so late. So you turn the blame back on them for not answering there phone (might need to call them once and hang up quick for this to work). But in my opinion that would totally of worked and got him out of trouble. On the other hand I didn’t get in trouble that night because my parents are cool, and know that I’m not going to go out and do something absolutely stupid like get wasted and drive home, or go to a friends house and get high, or go pay a hooker $15 to get some STD’s. So I didn’t even need an excuse. I just said me and Sura went out for a drive looking for an energy drink in Springfield, and my dad just said “well, okay.” And then went on talking about something else like he didn’t mind a bit. Even though he knew I was out all night. But for those of you that do really need an excuse “I ran out of gas in the middle of no where” is pretty much the best one you can use, and will get you out of pretty much any situation. Well about 87.3% of them

What's in a Name? - April 3

A name is what people identify you as. My name is Kenneth Jacob Curtis.  I got my first name from my grandfather on my dad’s side of the family. His name is Kenneth Curtis but he went by Ken on his life. My middle name is Jake, well technically Jacob and that was my mom’s favorite name at the time when she had me so that’s what I got named. Curtis obviously came my dad’s side of the family as its handed down the male’s and given to the females when they get married. I think this name really does suit me. Jake I find to be a great name and I wouldn’t choose any other name if I had the choice. When people miss pronounce my name and say Jack it does irritate me a little. Although it’s very rare because the long “a” sound from having an “e” on the end is a first grade concept, but it still happens here and there. I have done some research on the name Jake and it means your very idealistic and generous, with a strong desire to uplift humanity leading you into situations where you can express your desire to serve others. You want to assume responsibilities and to look after people; however you can become to involved in other people’s problems and tend to worry. I do tend to worry about a lot of things, but I don’t get into other people’s problems. Your name gives you natural desire to express along artistic and musical lines. I love music in listen to it for hours a day easily. You desire a settled home and family life, and are expressive and attentive to your loved ones. That is true I do express myself a lot better in front of family, basically by not being as shy. You must be careful not to become possessive and jealous of those close to you, however as you could attract losses and unfortunate experiences. Oh man, I get very jealous very easily. If you attach an ideal of service to your life, you could find great happiness and could express a very beautiful, happy, responsible, artistic, and generous nature. I find myself to be a very responsible and generous person. But on the other hand I am not artistic by any means.  The weakness of this name is in worry, which in turn affects the nervous system, creating a tendency to be highly strung or over sensitive to the thoughts of others. Like I said early I do get worried about a lot of small things that most people probably wouldn’t even worry about. I think I will stick with the name Jake until the day I die. But when I’m old I might let people call me Ken (since it sounds like an old person name).

Prologue - April 1

Well, let me introduce myself. I’m Jake Curtis (First name Kenneth but I don’t go by that because it sounds like an old person name) – I go to school at Pierce City High School and I’m a senior this year but you probably already knew that. I’m 5’4”or just round up we can call it 5’5”. I’ve attended school at Pierce City since second grade back in 2003. Before that I was actually home schooled up to and through second grade. I have 2 older siblings. One is my brother Richard (Dick lol) he moved to Kansas City a few years back and got married. Really don’t ever see him much anymore. But I get to see my older sister a couple times a week and she’s really fun to hang out with. My brother is 24 and my sister is 21, while I’m stuck at being the youngest at 19. Yep you heard right, 19 and I haven’t graduated yet. It’s because of what I spoke about earlier being home schooled through second grade then being put in public school in second grade. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. My classmates are some of the best friends you could ever ask for and I wouldn’t trade them out for anyone else.
In the future I still plan to live around here. I’d hate to go somewhere like another state and have to re-learn the terrain of the cities. I already know all the towns around here pretty well, except Springfield that’s just a mess and I’ve got to use GPS there. So why leave and have to relearn where everything is? Besides that most of my family all lives right around here from Pierce City to Cassville to Republic. And that’s my Mom’s side of the family. Dad’s side of the family all lives out in the west. Like Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. The hot states where it’s like 55° in the winter, and they call that cold. When we get down to like 20-25° here. But I like the cold and actually having seasons so that’s another reason I plan to stay and live around this area.
I plan to not just have a job, but a career. I want to be successful in my life and successful to provide for my children (way later on, like when I’m 25). I want to be a Computer Administrator like my father or an Accountant because I’m intrigued with dealing with money. You ever go to the bank and pull out a whole bunch of 20’s and the banker counts it so fast you can’t even keep up? Yeah, I’d like to be able to have that skill. Not necessarily working in a bank but somewhere in accounting. If you have a career you get a salary and that’s what I’m looking for whether I pull 30 hours or 50 hours I’m still getting a base amount + some. That will make me financially secure compared to working an hourly job where your hours will fluctuate every week. Sometimes you actually get more then 40 but sometimes you get a lot less.

Whoa! 525 words.. #OverAchieved.

Just My Thoughts.

"No one has the right to sit down and feel hopeless. There's too much work to do." All the time you spend moping and feeling down or being sad you could be making something of yourself! Go out and be a prime example for little kids, or even teenagers. By making yourself look more responsible in front of them you’ll make them more responsible themselves.
Have you ever looked at someone and smiled? More than 9 times out of 10 they smile right back. It’s like an automatic reaction to mimic there facial reaction. So if you walk around smiling people will be overall happier, especially around you. Smiling releases endorphins that make you feel happier. So even if you’re pissed off or in a bad mood that day if you smile, you will feel happier than if you frown.
Don’t just feel hopeless, make something of yourself. Go out and get a job, get a car, buy a house, find that special someone. This will give you purpose in life and make you feel like your important. Doing these things will motivate you to be a better person and a better example for others. So motivating you, you are also going to motivate others in the long run.
Another part of the “work to be done” is always improving. Always work to make yourself better emotionally, physically, and even everything around you. So show your emotion don’t just hide it, maybe talk a counselor about controlling your emotion. Physically keep you body fit. You don’t need to be a model by any means, but live a healthy life style. Lift weights, run, jog, do push ups, sit ups, pull ups. Get moving to lose weight and you will feel better all over. As for improving your surroundings, my parents are always fixing up the house and remodeling different rooms. And looking at it before and after it blows it out of the water and makes they house so much nicer to be living in and gives you more confidence in every step living in a house that is always getting better and always improving.

10 Years Down The Road

10 years from now I see myself having a really good job, paying on a 2 story house, with a wife and 2 kids. Mind you I won’t be having the kids until 27+ (planned), I’ve got to have my fun being a kid before I want to deal with children. I plan to have a 4 car garage (of course) for the Z, Toyota GTS, a 4x4 truck, and the wife’s car. Since it holds 4 cars it’ll probably have to be built on the side, but it’s necessary. Hopefully I’ll be working an 8-5 kind of job instead of working nights so I can have time to spend with the family. Family will be a very high priority in my life, being around a lot is definitely necessary to raise a kid. I’ll probably end up purchasing a camper trailer so my family and I can go visit my parents at the lake some weekends. My parents can’t wait until they have more grandkids, they almost obsess about it. My brother has 2 but we don’t even see him once a year. But my parents have made a couple of trips up to him to see him and the grandkids. Anyways back on topic~ In 10 years I’ll definitely be out of college and probably have a job as a computer technician or as an accountant, both these jobs are in very high demand so they would be a couple of good routes to go on as a future career to pursue  for the rest of my life.. Or until I retire at 65(ish). I would rather be a computer technician, like my father, but I have always been good at counting and sorting money. So I could easily see myself doing either one 10 years down the road.

Who Would you Call?

In any moment of crisis, or emergency if there was only one person I could call,  I would have to call I would have to be my Dad. My Dad has a lot of years under his belt and knows what to do in almost any situation. Actually in any situation he would have an answer to the best of his knowledge. If I ended up in jail or got in a wreck he would be the very first person I would call. Because even though he is not going to freak out on me he still has concern, and will know what to do. Or like in a scene in a scary movie where the killer is breaking in to the house and you’re under the bed trying to call someone. That would be me under the bed calling my dad (haha). He would tell me what to do to try to stay alive and he would be there as fast as he possibly could. As much as I hate to say it I would not call my mom in these situations. Even though she would have so much more concern she would actually have to much concern and would probably just make the situation worse.

Are We The Only Ones Here?

The Question is, “Are we alone?” In my opinion, no, we are not alone. I think there is other life out there. I am a bit of a skeptic, about ghosts and us staying on earth in the afterlife. But I do believe in extremely rare situations there are actual ghosts haunting a location. Most of the time it’s just hype, like people saying a certain cemetery or mansion being haunted it’s normally mostly in the persons imagination. Like when your adrenalines up and you’re in a situation you’re not comfortable in you are going to see and hear things and then you will just over think them and ASSUME the area is haunted by some sort of a spirit or demon. But that’s the thing; it’s all just in your head most of the time. Your mind makes out things that aren’t there just because you believe so hard you actually see something. But of course there are those extremely rare occasions I was talking about where there actually is a ghost in a haunted area. This is incredibly rare and I would say this is the case less than 1% of the time. And then it could still just be someone screwing with you.

Summer before College - Lets Work

If money and finances were not a problem and I had one summer to do what ever I wanted. I would spend my summer before college working two jobs to get my car paid off as fast as I could so I wouldn’t be making payments on it next year. I know “money and finances are not a problem” in this situation but you know nothing in this life is just handed to you plus if I didn’t have a job I would just feel like such a bum with nothing to do, work is one of my favorite places to be and I hope my next job is just as good as this one. Ok ok I can see some rich uncle paying for you to go on a trip around Europe that could happen I guess but I don’t want to travel. I hate traveling, but that rich uncle isn’t just going to go out and buy you a car! If you don’t earn that car yourself over time it won’t mean near as much to you down the road anyways. Maybe that’s why the rich don’t just hand stuff out because they know that. If you hand a bum a hundred dollar bill he’s probably going to have a great night….then be back on that street corner the next day. So that’s what I plan to be doing with my summer, work two jobs and get my car payed off as fast as possible and then who knows I might end up buying another Toyota Celica to add to the collection. Later on in life I actually plan to have 3 cars through my 20’s. 1. Nissan 350z, love it so why not? 2. Toyota Celica, it’s a more casual better gas mileage car that is still very fun to drive and has that kick, just not as showy. 3. I don’t think I’ve told anyone about this one. But I plan to buy a big 4-wheel drive truck just to have for whenever it snows. I can’t stand being stuck in my driveway not being able to even get to the road in my sports cars so I’ve got to have that for when I really need out to get to work. Makes sense right?

The Educated vs. The Uneducated

An educated person is going to have plenty of responsibilities compared to an uneducated person. An educated person is much more likely to make better decisions in there day to day life that will impact and make their life much better in the late future and even the present. But the uneducated are going to only be in the present and living in that one moment. A well educated person is going to have a car payments, house payments, cell phone bills, insurance on pretty much everything, and of course all standard bills such as gas, electric, sewer, and water. And the reason they do this is so in the future they can have a very economic car for the future that will last and they won’t be making payments on anymore. They will have a house they can live in without making any payments. Also insurance to protect what you have purchased incase the unexpected happens. Always expect the unexpected, that’s the smart educated person way of life. But the uneducated person is going to have there not so great job, living pay check to pay check driving a piece of crap car that is going to break down any day. Paying rent on a house they will never own! And leaving everything they have uninsured just because they can’t afford it!! You need to get educated so your life now and life in the future will be much better and brighter for you and your family for generations to come.

Lets Get Rid of THIS!

I think the one invention I think we would all be better off without would have to be the invention of “soda.” Many of you probably don’t know just how unhealthy soda is for you. Just one bottle of Coke has 240 calories, 75mg of sodium, and 65g of sugar! And think about how often you actually drink soda. The average American drinks about the equivalent of 2 cans of soda per day. Now think about how fast that adds up. That’s about 60 per month. It would be so much healthier if everyone would drink that amount or more in water obesity rates would be cut by insane amounts. Even if people didn’t want to drink as much water but just drink juice or milk much more often as an alternative to soda it would be so much better for the world. And no I’m not pointing my finger at everyone, I know plenty of people that only drink water and juice, and actually never drink soda. They feel happier and less ran down. I mean soda will give you that buzz for a little while but after that your crash will leave you off worse then you even were in the first place. So you shouldn’t of drink the soda in the first place to wake you up. Coffee with creamer is healthier then soda, there’s so many artificial flavors and syrup in soda its just absolutely terrible for your body and people don’t see the damage it does until later on down the road.

Do You Have Courage?

Courage is the ability to do something that frightens one. In my opinion you don’t even have to be necessarily scared to be courageous. If someone else is afraid to do something and your not, you will look very brave or courageous to them. Let me give you an example. You go to Silver Dollar City with a few friends to hang out for the day. Let’s say your friend is absolutely petrified of roller coasters and your not, you absolutely love to ride them. If you ride the roller coaster in front of him he will think of you as very courageous even though you weren’t afraid in the first place. That’s where I am coming from. If others are scared of a situation and you do it, you will end up being the “hero” or the “courageous” person doing the act. Therefore you are doing something that another is too scared to do. But it also does work the other way if you’re scared of roller coasters and you ride one you are being courageous for yourself, either way I see it as all the same. Anyways, you only live once (Yolo) so be courageous! Be outgoing! Because you only get one chance and you don’t want to look back when you’re old and have regret.

Middle School Graduation

I have written a 300 page Autobiography and it just so happens I’ve decided I would like to share page 217 with you.
Day 4745: I was about 13 or 14 years old and I was graduating middle school. This is about as big of a deal as graduating Elementary school. Everyone I knew and all my peers were dressed as spiffy as ever. Wearing a Variety of different colored dresses and dress shirts, as well as slacks, dress skirts and blouses and even a few of the guys actually wore a tie. I went ahead and went in classic band attire, which is black shoes, black slacks, with a white dress shirt. After standing outside the gym doors for what seemed like forever we finally walked in two by two branching off and going to our own seats. We sit quietly patient as Faith Strong gives her speech she had written up for the occasion. I honestly can’t remember much of it but I’m sure it was very encouraging predicting our futures and successes we would eventually achieve. Then the time had come. After three long years of middle school we each go up the stairs on the side of the stage shake a member of the boards hand and get out diploma, and walk down the stairs on the far side. I’m not entirely sure if anyone noticed but I almost tripped on the second to last step walking down. But I’m sure I was “graceful” enough that no one did. Then we all meet up in the cafeteria for cake and punch and to say our goodbyes until next year.

Word That Describes Me #Creative

The word that really describes me would have to be "Apathetic." It’s in my character that I don't show much emotion. Being apathetic means you don’t really care about much, or you lack concern or emotion.  Having no emotion helps you keep from getting hurt, you pretty much mind your own business and keep you head down in the crowd. You don’t want to stand out; you would rather not even be seen at all. You see most things as a waste of time. If you apathetic you’re not really happy; but you’re not necessarily mad or sad, your just here. You don’t really want to be here, but you wouldn’t rather be anywhere else either. Even though I am apathetic I still have morals. I can’t steal or lie on almost any occasion because that’s in my character too so I guess I do care about some things. But other than that I just keep to myself. Getting attached to anything just leads to hurt and pain.  Eventually all good things come to an end. So why risk having that good thing taken away? Because in the end it’s just going to end up hurting you. Keep to yourself, it’s better that way.

A Medium Suitcase - Busy Work.

1. A Family Picure - Family means a lot to me. Their there when you need them the most.

2. My Mazzio's Cap - I've had a lot of good memories at Mazzio's. Work feels like one of the most important places I need to be, and I want to remember that feeling.

3. My cell phone - Theres a lot of pictures and memeries on it I'd like to keep. Also being able to keep in contact with loved ones.

4. My Wallet - Don't get me wrong.. by no means is it the money in it. I just feel like I'm missing something if its not in my back right pocket. sitting, walking,.. everything just feels like somethings out of place if i dont have it.

5. My Keyring - if I ever get to go home (from where ever im going) I'd like to have a key to my house, and the key to my car.

6. Leather Jacket - I've had this jacket for about 6 years. Everytime I see it or put it on it makes me think of who i used to be.

7. Computer Mouse - Even though I dont play video games anymore, Ive played more then my fair share and the computer mouse would remind me of all the friends i made from my old clan :{CF}: in my 5 years of Gaming.

8. My Belt - Well obviously you dont want your pants to fall down! But if I wear any other belt now it feels wierd.. kind of like the wallet thing.. everything just feels out of place.

9. My 350'z Shift knob - I've only had this car for 2 months, but its the best thing I have ever bought. I Drive it everyday, unless theres snow on the ground, its absolutly terrible in snow.

10. My Class Ring - Even though School was hell most of the time, I want to remember some of it. Like the good times I had and all the friends I made along the way.

Looking Up.

A person that I really admire would have to be Martin Luther King Jr., he stood for civil rights for every single person. When no one else would speak up he rose above the crowd and spoke for them. That makes him an incredible leader and I wish I had more characteristics like that. I’m a fairly quiet person, and to have those leadership skills would make me a much better employee and over as a person for many situations that would arise. It’s hard to “Manage” when you’re a soft spoken person. Martin Luther King Jr. had a voice that carried. I’m sure his confidence and how firmly he stood for civil rights helped his voice be heard. But as firm as he did stand for whites and blacks to be equal he did it in the most non-violent way, through the way he ran his campaign. And doing so was the best way to resolve the conflict in my opinion. Raising violence would have just made them look like the bad guys, and they would have probably ended up losing rights rather then gaining them. Martin Luther King Jr. was absolutely a great model that we should be more like, rising above the crowd to stand for what you believe in.

I look up to Eminem. He is a prime example of someone who had a terrible life and through music he turned his whole life around. I consider him to be someone I look up to because when ever I am feeling down or pissed off about something I just put my Pandora on my Eminem playlist and just listen to his lyrics, and after a while, it actually makes me feel better. By listening to him it just shows me that I am not the only one who deals with struggles throughout my life. It makes it easier to relate to him. I know he is not the best role model because of some of the things he’s done in his life, but his music pulls you in and really makes you think about life in another perspective.

The third person I look up to would have to be Will Ferrell. Will Ferrell is a mastermind in comedy, and knows how to use humor in almost any situation to raise people’s spirits. Not only is he funny, but he also knows how to be serious in certain situations where seriousness is essential. Will Ferrell supports many charities that really make a difference such as UNICEF, Artists for Peace and Justice, Afghanistan Relief Organization, Charilze theron Africa Outreach Project, Room To Read, Cancer for College, US Campaign for Vurma, Music for Relief and Steven Jay Wampler Foundation. I have always thought he was an icon in my life ever since I watched the movie Talladega nights. I love seeing him on Saturday Night Live. He’s been a regular since the 90’s and he’s always making jokes and making everyone laugh.

Event

The real story behind my picture is me and Sura drove around Monett for like 25 minutes trying to find something to take a picture of. After that we see Mazzio's left the outside lights on and it seems like a good idea to take a picture of my car in front of the restaurant. After taking the picture it looks good so i use it for the assignment.

Groundhog Day

If I could go back in time and relive a day I would relive the day I wrecked my 2001 Toyota Celica GTS in September.  That night I was stressed out and thought I would go ahead and top my car to see what the top speed was, but I made the bad decision of trying to top it on a back road. After hitting about 130 MPH I’m gliding on the road and then a bump comes out of nowhere and spins me sideways, after counteracting with I losing control facing the other direction and then the passenger side of my car is in the ditch. It’s late and the grass is wet, so when I cut the wheel to the left nothing happened, and I was forced to hit a covert that through me sideways across the road and put me on my side in the ditch on the opposite side of the road (Driver side up in the air). Hanging there, heart racing, I call 911. “911 what is your emergency” I tell them I was in a wreck on 1040, right outside of Pierce City. “So that’s Lawrence County? One moment let me transfer your call.” 30 seconds later I retell the situation to the next operator, and they say they will send a unit out….. 40 minutes later the state trooper shows up and takes all the information for the accident report. My wreck was about 100 feet in distance, and for some reason the cop never asked me how fast I was going. I would have gotten one big ticket if he knew the real speed and could prove it, but he seemed like a really nice guy. After the tow truck got there he ended up giving me a ride home. I would relive this night, and right before I turned on the back road 1040 I would not of made the stupid decision to drop into second gear and top my car out that night. If I did not make that decision that night I would have that Toyota Celica paid off and the 350z I have now, and would have sold my Alero. My insurance rates would be significantly lower and full coverage would be less than half the price I would pay now. Although I wrecked my car, even after paying my deductible, I made a profit on that car. The settlement was actually $700 dollars but -$500 for the deductible. So I made $200, but if there was any way possible to save my totaled car I would of payed $800+ for them to fix my car but it was about 6-7k in damage. It was a very easy standard to drive and excellent to learn in. It was just a very fun car to drive. And now I would be driving the Toyota Celica for work and delivering pizzas and the Nissan 350z in my free time just to keep the miles low on it and keep the value high, and then I wouldn’t have to be driving that sketchy Alero to work.
